After retrieving the children's bodies from the temple, the party traveled to Legion's Fort with the captured Dr. Cedric Vauntmere, who proved resistant even to Alexander's mental probing. They contacted their allies via sending stones, turned over Vauntmere and the bodies to authorities, and celebrated at a tavern with the freed warforged Mia. During the night, D.I.R.T.'s missing arm was mysteriously restored, and Mia suffered distress from a mysterious mental presence. This incident led Cyran to confront Alexander, who confessed he was a changeling, heard the Dark One's voice, and was actually the missing son of the Karhide family explaining Maria Karhide's interest in their group. The party then traveled to Millstone, where they discovered Xan's long-lost father Rakan Evercrest drunk in a tavern, with Maria Karhide having paid for his drinks. They contacted Xan about the reunion and sought out Renzo's mother Lavenza, leader of the resistance group called the Daybreakers. The reunion was tense as Renzo confronted Lavenza about her 12-year absence, and she revealed her plan to travel to The Forgotten, a dangerous island where Lucian Lightfoot's journey had begun the magic-loss curse. The party decided to beat her to the island, received a warning from Maria Karhide before she vanished, and the session ended with Alexander's changeling mother visiting him through his window to warn him of coming dangers.
