RO: Cele mai importante elemente pentru diagnosticul diferențial al afecțiunilor oculare sunt: marginea liberă a pleoapelor (Glande Meibomius); structura corneei; epiteliul posterior al corneei devine epiteliul anterior al irisului; plaga corneană penetrantă este o cheratită posterioară sau o uveită anterioară; structura pleoapei a treia (cartilaj tars și glanda anexă a pleoapei a treia); aspectul vaselor sanguine în procesul de vindecare al corneei; structura uveei (iris, corp ciliar, coroida); ligamentul suspensor al cristalinului (Zonula Zinn); structura fundului de ochi (tapetum lucidum, tapetum nigrum, vasele retiniene, papila nervului optic).
