'Taxi' (1978) ran for five seasons; along the way it picked up 13 Emmys (three of them for 'Outstanding Comedy Series'), several Golden Globes, and numerous print accolades. Judd Hirsch headlined a talented cast in this sitcom about the lives of a group of taxi drivers. After four seasons on ABC it started to slip. ABC passed on the show, and they took it to NBC for a fifth year. The jazzy theme music ('Angela', by Bob James) didn't change much over the years. At most it was a little over a minute on the show, but on James's album 'Touchdown' (available on streaming services) it's almost six minutes long. 0:00 Season one opening titles.
