Wireless switching is becoming popular in rewire and upgraded electrical installations, especially where it is difficult to run new cabling. They are also simplify the wiring of 2 way switching or 2 way and intermediate switching. Many of the wireless switching technologies on the market feature proprietary protocols. This means if a manufacture no longer produces the sender or receiver unit the system could become useable if spare parts are no longer available. The wireless light switches in this video use Enocean battery free technology. This means light switches can be paired with receiver modules from many different manufacturers.
