Part 1 of building a retropi handheld into a Sega Game Gear using a RaspberryPi 3, we go through the parts list and the plan. Including how we will use the existing Game Gear sound and power boards to run the device. Parts you might want: Raspberry PI - You'll want a 3+ for power or a Zero for size, a 3+ will let you emulate probably up to Playstaion 2, A Zero is probably good up to Game Boy Advance but your mileage will vary depending on software and which games you want to play. https://www.raspberrypi.org/ Pololu Mini Push Button Power Switch - This was my choice for taking power from the Game Gear power board and running the PI you may have different requirements. https://www.pololu.com/product/2808 KeDei 3.5" HDMI screen - this is just one i picked due to price, there are plenty available, would recommend HDMI over screens that connect to the GPIO as these sometimes have lag. However HDMI will need a HDMI cable hacking up to fit in the case so each to thier own. http://www.kedei.net/ Audio Amplifier - for this project I'm going to use the Game Gear sound board but you could source a different amplifier, I brought a board based on the PAM8403 chip because it's inexpensive. http://amzn.eu/hSc6pa7 Cheap Game - I use a copy of Leader Board Golf and removed the label. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/139973/i.h... Teensy 2 USB Controller - for the controls on the game gear rather than wire directly to the PI, Arduino based and super simple to use. https://www.pjrc.com/teensy/ Touch Sensors - I dont show them in this video but they will come up later http://r.ebay.com/l8O5n0 Micro Switches - These are the tiny clicky switches I chose http://r.ebay.com/ttL8sG
