Video introduction: After Covid, India saw crazy growth in quick commerce. In 2021, Swiggy Instamart’s order value jumped 16 times. Zepto, in just 5 months, went from 0 to 1,00,000 orders per day. Blinkit also saw a 300 percent increase in orders after Covid. Seeing this shift in consumer behavior, many companies jumped into the quick commerce race. Ola launched Ola Dash, Reliance started JioMart Express, and Zomato wasted no time in acquiring Blinkit. But quick commerce is a cash-burning business. You need to open dark stores in premium locations, pay delivery drivers, manage logistics and tech, and handle massive operational costs. And if you increase prices even a little, customers will either shift to another platform or start ranting on Twitter and LinkedIn. This is why many companies started struggling. Ola Dash shut down in June 2022. JioMart Express also shut down in early 2023. When Zomato acquired Blinkit, its stock price crashed by 20 percent, wiping out ₹10,250 crore in valuation within days. But Blinkit did something unexpected. In just two years, it increased its average order value from ₹553 to ₹707, grabbed 48 percent market share, and proved all doubters wrong. Today, Blinkit’s valuation is even higher than Zomato itself. And now in 2025, all these quick commerce platforms are making another big move. They have all entered the 10-minute food delivery business. Swiggy launched Snacc. Zepto launched Zepto Café. Blinkit launched Bistro. The most interesting part? None of them integrated this into their main app. Instead, they all created separate apps just for this. In this video, we will cover: Why are all these brands rushing into 10-minute food delivery Is this actually a profitable business or just a marketing stunt If Zomato and Swiggy already deliver food, why did they create a separate app for this What lessons we can learn from this food delivery apps case study Chapters: 0:00 Intro 2:28 Problems with food delivery apps in India 3:38 Importance of Data 6:25 Problem faced by Amazon India 9:20 Rise of 10-min food delivery apps 10:13 Zomato’s strategy 11:25 Conclusion Follow me on: Instagram: / siddharth_chopra Linkedin: / siddharthchopra1 Our other business case studies: 1.
