Base Layer "Pillow Paint" PPG Speedhide White 6-515 Interior Semi-Gloss Fresh Sherwin Williams Color to go The leftover colored house paints used were Sherwin Williams 6979Verve Violet, 6839 Kimono Violet, Laughing Orange 6895 -Colors To Go ( Sample sizes) mixed with the PPG. Other colors included in the mix would be Colourarte Color -Primary Elements=P.E.s (Pigment Powders) Prizm Pours Colors=P.P. -listed-P.E.Carnival-P.P. Deep Amethyst-P.P. Pink Carnation-P.P.Mayan Gold Potentially the cell activators used here to create a blooming effect were possibly Atelier Black, Atelier Phalo Torquoise-Pebeo acrylic Iridescent Blue-Green -Atelier Rich Gold, Amsterdam White-, and others. 1/3 acrylic paint added into 2/3 Aussie Floetrol. Heavier viscosity recipes work too. I like 50-50 also. The usual Cell activators are Amsterdam Black or White mixed into Aussie Floetrol, estimated 3/4 Aussie Floetrol1/4 paint, alternative mixtures can also be a half and half mixture of Aussie Floetrol… depending on your preferences. Many other colors can be used as cell activators. An alternative Cell activation recipe using American Floetrol (same ratios)must include 10 drops of Minwax pre-stain wood conditioner added for every 2 ounces of mixed paint. Other recipes for drops added may vary. This works for me. I strongly recommend adding GAC 800 by Golden as an addition to all colors (25%) to avoid crazing. This is especially true if you are using the bloom style of pouring paint if you have not allowed the paint to stretch as far as it will go. All the paints I use are acrylic paints mixed with additives to help them flow more easily. I advise a well-ventilated room and those with respiratory issues to avoid paint pouring or use a respirator. Air bubbles in the paint should be released before they result in hard dry bubbles. A sharp object such as a skewer is used to remove the bubbles in evidence while the artwork is still wet. Also if there is no house-paint base being used, a torch lightly passed over the surface to pop bubbles is also acceptable. Every day I learn new things. I will never stop experimenting, and I am happy to share what I discover with you.
