The Purpose of the World Evangelical Great Awakening Union: ‘Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.”’ (John 3:5) It is the purpose of the WEGAU to make the true gospel (John 3:5) that Jesus our Lord taught spread and be known all over the world. In particular, the Union is established on the basis of studying and developing the theology of the workers of the Great Awakening and Revival Movements in the 18th century : George Whitefield, Jonathan Edwards, John Wesley, and some puritans in the 17th century : Richard Baxter, John Owen, etc, focusing on saving as many souls as possible by making the true gospel of rebirth be widely known in Korea and the world. In addition, hopefully, it is to be done with all the churches and saints both in Korea and abroad who agree to the purpose. It is the ultimate purpose of the Union for all the elected saints who are truly reborn of God and their churches to be visibly united in love. If a true and spiritual great awakening movement would happen on the earth how much will God be joyful! Or if the Lord sees His own sons and daughter who are genuinely born of Him united, how great is His joy! Almighty Lord, may You be with us in this work and make it by Yourself for the glory of You!
