Tijuana, Mexico, is a busy border city located just south of San Diego, California, and is one of the most rapidly growing cities in Mexico. Like many urban areas, Tijuana is comprised of a mixture of neighborhoods that range from upscale to working class. This video portrays the working class neighborhood in the southern part of Tijuana. The homes in a working-class neighborhood in Tijuana can range from small, single-story concrete houses to more makeshift or improvised dwellings, often constructed from a mix of materials such as cinder blocks, wood, and corrugated metal. Some might be painted in bright colors, while others may show signs of wear from the elements. Streets can vary from paved to dirt roads. In some parts, potholes or uneven surfaces can be common. Street vendors or pushcart sellers are seen selling food, household items, or other goods. Mom-and-pop stores, known as "tienditas," are prevalent.
