It took place near the town of Walong in the eastern sector of the conflict, in the present-day Arunachal Pradesh region of India. Indian forces, despite being outnumbered and under equipped, resisted the Chinese advance for nearly a month. Kaho and Walong are both located in the Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh, India, and are close to the India-China border Kaho The first village of India, Kaho is a small village on the banks of the Lohit River. It's located at an elevation of 1,240 meters (4,070 ft) and is about 8 km south of the India-China Line of Actual Control. Kaho is inhabited by the Meyor community, and has an old Gompa that signifies their Buddhist faith. The village's main occupations are agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry. The Lohit River enters India north of Kibithu at Kaho. Walong An administrative town and the headquarters of the Anjaw district, Walong is located on the banks of the Lohit River. It's the easternmost town in mainland India and has a small cantonment of the Indian Army. Walong is the site of the Battle of Walong, which took place from October 21 to November 16, 1962. Kibithu, also spelled Kibithoo, is a village in Arunachal Pradesh in Anjaw district, India. It is one of the easternmost permanently populated towns of India, located on the LAC (line of actual control)
