This was one of my Labor Day Weekend Projects, installing an Attwood Neat Cleat on the bow of my 2002 Key West 1720 CC. I had bought two of these pop up cleats with backing plates, intending to install one on either side of the bow forward of the grab rail. My concern with a single center mounted cleat was running a dock line to port with the trolling motor installed. After a dozen or so measurements with the trolling motor mounted, I determined I could manage with a single center installed cleat. It is a relatively easy install, once one gets past the anxiety of drilling two one inch diameter holes in the center of the deck. There was enough room to mount the 4 1/2" cleat so that the mounting was all inside the anchor locker. This made reaching the fitting relatively easy although access into the anchor locker is tight when you've long arms. I took my time on this project, stopping numerous times. All in, this is probably a hour or two project. I spent close to three, spending close to one hour trying to decide which of the two installs I was going to go with. Thanks for watching.
