Our family spent a week on a Royal Caribbean Alaska cruise, experiencing life on board a floating resort and exploring three amazing port destinations — Icy Strait Point, Skagway, and Ketchikan. This itinerary highlights what families can expect both on the ship and at each stop along the way. Cruise Ship Highlights We began our adventure in Seward, Alaska, where we boarded our 12‑deck Royal Caribbean ship. The vessel itself was incredible, with panoramic views from almost every level. Each morning brought new coastal scenery, and every evening ended with comfortable staterooms overlooking the water. Dining on board was one of our favorite parts. We enjoyed elegant sit‑down dinners in the main dining hall and casual meals in the buffets spread throughout the ship. Kids loved trying new foods every day, and there were plenty of dessert stops for ice cream treats. Entertainment and activities filled the schedule from morning to night. The ship featured a mini‑golf course on the top deck, an arcade packed with games, and family‑friendly movie screenings. On sea days, we joined trivia games, live music events, and outdoor shows with stunning ocean backdrops. For families who love the water, the ship had both indoor and outdoor pools, heat‑retaining hot tubs, and a small splash zone for younger kids. The highlight was a twisting waterslide that ended in a shallow play pool — perfect for children wanting extra excitement during days at sea. The open decks and observation areas offered unbeatable Alaskan scenery. From the railings we spotted glaciers, mountain peaks, whales, and beautiful sunsets. The journey between ports was an experience of its own, surrounded by views that changed every hour. Port Stops and Excursions Icy Strait Point Our first stop was Icy Strait Point, a destination built for outdoor adventures. We started with a scenic gondola ride that gave panoramic views of the bay and mountains — a huge hit with our kids. Afterward, we took an easy nature trail through the forest and visited a quiet pebble beach. The beach was a relaxing place to watch the tide, skip stones, and enjoy the cool air. Families looking for a mix of nature and comfort will find this stop perfect for exploration without long hikes. Skagway Next, we arrived in Skagway, a charming Gold Rush–era town surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. We joined a guided bus tour that followed winding roads into the hills above the port. Along the route, we stopped at waterfalls, alpine overlooks, and historic viewpoints that told the story of the region’s mining past. The local town itself is walkable and full of frontier-style buildings, souvenir shops, and a small railway station offering classic photo spots. Ketchikan Our final port was Ketchikan, Alaska’s “First City” and one of its most colorful. We explored it aboard an amphibious vehicle that began as a road tour through town and then drove straight into the harbor. This amphibious ride was one of our kids’ favorite moments, combining fun and learning about fishing boats, totem poles, and coastal life. The mix of city sights and harbor views made this excursion both scenic and educational. Ketchikan’s walkable downtown also offers plenty of local eateries and waterfront boardwalks perfect for families. Cruising Through Alaska Between the island‑dotted passages and glacier‑lined waters, cruising through Alaska offered unmatched natural beauty. Whether standing on the observation deck or relaxing in the hot tub, the views were constant and unforgettable. For families, an Alaskan cruise provides the ideal balance — comfortable days at sea and exciting discoveries on shore. If you’re planning a family vacation, this Alaska cruise itinerary shows just how easy it is to combine adventure, comfort, and breathtaking views in one incredible trip. #AlaskaCruise #RoyalCaribbean #FamilyTravel #CruiseWithKids #AlaskaFamilyVacation #Skagway #Ketchikan #IcyStraitPoint #TravelWithKids #CruiseItinerary #ExploreAlaska #FamilyAdventure #OutdoorFamilyFun #AlaskaTravelGuide #CruiseLife #FamilyCruise 00:00 Intro 00:14 Seward, Alaska 00:28 Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship 01:45 Icy Strait, Alaska 04:05 Cruise Ship Activities 04:39 Skagway, Alaska 05:36 Cruise Ship Pools 07:04 Ketchikan, Alaska 08:20 Ending
