Camino Portugués Coastal Route - Day 6 - Oia to Nigran

What a wet and windy day it was, but I was dressed for the occasion. At least the sun has made an appearance now.I have my walking done. I woke up close to 8am (thinking it was 7am) to discover croissants for breakfasts. We had a fabulous community of pilgrims in our hostel last night. I hope I meet them again? I had intended to walk to Baiona, but I felt good. I would walk to A Ramallosa and see how I felt. I stuck to the coast for the duration of the day, stopping for 2nd breakfast at O Muino's Camping. There was a chance for another sello further up the road at Pedra Rubia - a chap tells me of his Celtic connections while I shiver from the cold. The wind was whipping up a gale at this point, and the ocean was in a fiery mood. While some pilgrims took the route up the hill to Baredo, I walked on with Faro de Silleiro ahead of me. There were no arrows, but I knew which way Baiona was. I walked in and out of Baiona, I had seen the sites last year, and the rain was coming down too heavy for me to stop. On the way out of Baiona, you can see small green arrows and for.a while, boardwalk. I crossed the puente romanica de Ramallosa once again, and it was straightforward now. I met my pilgrim friend from South Korea. He took my number to send me some photos that he took of me. Arriving at Praia America, I just wish the weather was a bit better. I met two pilgrims from Madrid who invited me to have lunch with them in Nigrán. They had little English, but we still managed. Vigo was their destination today - it is mine tomorrow.
