A walk from the Western Gate entry point to the Taj Mahal. It's a Thursday weekday in January 2023 at around 5 pm. The Taj Mahal, a white marble mausoleum, is a popular place for people from around the world to visit, as it's also a new world wonder. It's busy as you can see! Furthermore, because the Taj is closed on Fridays and the day before was closed to visitors due to an official state visit. Sunset time is also a major time of the day to visit the Taj Mahal. We did visit on the same day at 7 am before this and the area was practically empty (which you can see on our post pictures – legends of the Taj Mahal in the card section). Taj Mahal January morning time visit: Pros – no people, Cons – it's foggy in winter and cold. Taj Mahal January evening time visit: Pros – better visibility to the Taj, Cons – it's super busy and the queues are endless. Conclusion: The Taj Mahal is a breathtaking beauty!! The Taj Mahal is located in Agra at the banks of the Yamuna river. It was built by the Mogul emperor Shah Jahan for his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died at the birth of her 14th child. He didn't get over her death and invested over 1 billion USD in today's currency to build this marvel.
