He must place his own wants on desire on hold if the conflict with the good of those who are in his care. The Catholic Church in no way teaches that men and woman compliment and not compete with each other. There is a warped sense of gender equality within our society. It has given the impression that men and woman are supposed to be equal in all things. But this will never be the case, because we are different. Men and woman are equal in dignity, but not equal in ability. Different abilities exist also not just between the sexes but within each gender. Different abilities create different opportunities for individuals. This is not inequality. This is just and good for society. We should want individuals excelling in their giftedness. Not because they are man or women, but because they are gifted. When it comes to the home, men and women have differences that compliment each other and build a strong home life. For example, both men and women nurture children, but the do it in very different ways. A strength of Fathers is their natural ability to rough play with their children. In general women are better at emotional nurturing children. This is generally true. If you don't believe it, think about through your childhood, and replace your mother with another Father similar to the one you had. If there is no difference between how a man and women nature children, the swapping out a mother for another father, should not be a big deal. How know our childhood would have drastically different precisely because men and woman are very different in their ability to nurture. Many men are confused about how to be a good dad?
