Thalassaki Mou - Jutta & the Hi-Dukes (tm) live - Touhill Center, U of Mo-St. Louis

In November, 2015, we were invited to perform at a fine arts concert sponsored by the Greek Chair at the Univ. of Missouri-St. Louis. As you will see, during the second set we opened up the stage to the mostly Greek audience for dancing. Here folks are doing a Kalamatiano which has an asymmetrical rhythm time signature of 7/8 (slow-quick-quick where the quicks are two eighth notes long and the slow is three eighth notes long). The Greek title to the song roughly translates as "My Sea". It is a plea to the whimsical and often dangerous sea to bring the singer's "bird" back alive. Donovan Mixon joins us here on guitar and Marc Edelstein holds up the bottom with his bass.
