Establishing what it is, why it matters. And expect to hear how tough is for women in esports and what the panel think can be done to improve the situation. Amy Yu Founder and CEO of SGC SGC aims to grow a sustainable community to celebrate gaming, technology & innovation across UK universities. “Innovation is a confluence of efforts undertaken by many different people and organisations.” – The goal of SGC is to create a collaborative community space to host for innovation to thrive. Carleigh Morgan Games Researcher; International Esports Leader Associate Director A PhD Research Candidate at King’s College, London investigating professional gaming and digital subjects. Currently the Associate Program Director for the International Esports Leaders Think Tank, an international research portal dedicated to promoting high quality eSports research, overseeing public engagement activities and collaborations between the eSports sector and academic publishing, and acting as a hub for researchers to share and cultivate cutting edge esports research with the general public. Chris Dring NewBay Media - MCV Editor MCV is a media website, weekly magazine and an events business dedicated to the games industry. He manages the editorial, lead a team of staff writers, and act as the publication’s lead news and features writer. In July, MCV produced a one-off publication dedicated to eSports – the first eSports Pro magazine. He also writes reviews for The Observer newspaper and The Guardian website. Isabel Davies Purewal & Partners LLP - Legal & Business Analyst Since graduating in 2013 with a 2:1 LLB Law degree from the University of Nottingham, she has followed her love for video games, eSports, tech and the digital world. Having worked for both Disney Interactive and King, she has tackled a huge range of legal and commercial issues in the games industry. She started her training contract in September 2016 with video games and eSports law firm Purewal & Partners. James Dean Founder and co-Managing Director of the ESL UK subsidiary Previously, James founded a sales, marketing and PR company in 2006 specialising in services for the IT and gaming industry which shaped the foundation of ESL UK. In 2015, ESL set and still holds records for the largest ever online audience for a UK esports tournament, at two subsequent events in London. Early 2016, ESL opens the UK’s first purpose built esports gaming studio as part of a continued growth plan for UK esports.
