In Germany they were almost extinct. Only a good fifty great bustards strutted through the Brandenburg steppe. In the meantime there are at least 352 specimens of the heaviest bird capable of flying (15 kilos) in this country. And so it can be seen again in different places in Brandenburg, the spectacular courtship dance of the great bustards. And when looking for a partner, the boys don't care whether the sun is shining, fog obscures the view or hoar frost is lying on the meadows ... Except when a white-tailed eagle reports in the sky and disturbs the courtship. Then the bustards show involuntarily that they can really fly . In Deutschland waren sie fast ausgestorben. Nur noch gut Fünfzig Großtrappen stolzierten durch die Brandenburger Steppe. Inzwischen gibt es immerhin 352 Exemplare des schwersten flugfähigen Vogels (15 Kilo) hierzulande. Und so ist er wieder an verschiedenen Orten in Brandenburg zu sehen, der spektakuläre Balztanz der Großtrappen. Und den Jungs ist es auf der Suche nach Partnerinnen egal, ob die Sonne scheint, Nebel den Blick trübt oder Raureif auf den Wiesen liegt… Außer ein Seeadler meldet sich am Himmel und stört die Balz.
