The Witches (2020) begins with the sad story of a little boy (Jahzir Bruno) orphaned after both parents are killed in a car accident. His maternal grandmother (Octavia Spencer) arrives to take care of him. As days and weeks pass, the two grow closer, learning about each other and through her, he learns more about his mother. And as it turns out, his grandmother is a well known healer in her hometown. After awhile, she shares stories about her life, and that when she was around his age, she had an unforgettable experience with a witch! Gasp. To improve their health and spirits, Grandma decides they need a vacation by the beach. Under the watchful eye of the hotel manager Mr. Stringer (Stanley Tucci) they enjoy a few days of rest and relaxation until her grandson realizes that the convention happening at the hotel is being hosted by Witches!
