Give yourself 30 minutes down time in order to relax and immerse yourself in this evocative suite of Original Celtic and Celtic Fusion music as you clip yourself into the front passenger seat for a drive through the 52.5 miles of magnificent scenery of the North West Section of Scotland's famous North Coast 500 Route running from Durness in the North to Elphin in the South of the Section. This music video is especially dedicated to two very good friends, Teresa Sneddon who resides in Ontario, Canada and looks forward to viewing new music videos posted on the channel showing in detail Scotland's spectacular scenery and also her Sister-in-Law, Mary Sneddon, who lives in our own bonnie Scotland. Travelling through this area of Scotland's spectacular Unesco Global Geopark is indeed like driving through the Mists of Time as some of the oldest rocks on the planet, aged around 3 billion years old, are laid bare for your inspection. In places these old Lewisian Gneiss rocks were overlain by Torridonian Sandstone, much of which has eroded away over many millions of years leaving a number of monolithic Torridonian mountains which rise up in splendid isolation at various locations in the geopark. 1.2 Billion years ago the area also endured a large meteoric impact. Together with major thrust Faults and many major caves there is a wealth of geo-diversity in this area. The scenery is not only fantastic but also tells a fantastic story. Anyone who is visiting the area and wishes to see the landscape and its history in a totally new light should consider subscribing to the North West Highlands Geopark News bulletins ( nwhgeopark.com ). Even if you don't have much time to spare due to a hectic North Coast 500 timetable it is highly worthwhile spending a couple of hours at the Knockan Crag National Nature Reserve. Trust me, if you have a vivid imagination and want to see, up close and personal, what happens when Earth's continents collide then you will be blown away by this experience. The Reserve and Nature Centre has 3 trails with regular seating and a visitor centre ( The Rock Room ) and is located 13 miles ( 21 Kilometres ) North of Ullapool on the A835 road. Toilets are open 24 hours. If you manage to go – Enjoy. For more information on this reserve visit www.nature.scot/knockan-crag-nnr-visiting-reserve
