Every day we are inundated with images and graphics, advertising, marketing, promoting, branding, asking, selling, demanding, informing. Some images we are intensely aware of as they grab our attention, most we are blind or immune to as they crowd past us on screens, billboards, moving, or static. Every image tells us something, every image wants us to do something. The decision is ours to make. The questions is, what will we choose to do. Justin Kemerling is an independent graphic designer, activist, and collaborator living in Omaha, Nebraska focused on making it beautiful, moving people to action, and getting good things done. Over the last 12 years, he has worked primarily with community organizations and political campaigns in need of branding, graphic design, and web design. His self-initiated projects and collaborations explore ways to move forward important causes and ideas with design, art, and other forms of creative expression. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
