2025 BMW M4 First Look The BMW M4 is the M3's two-door coupe and convertible cousin. It's technically the top 4 Series model you can get, and it has a reputation for delivering thrills worthy of its M distinction. The second-generation M4 arrived for 2021, and this year, the sports car receives several big updates. Rivals include the Mercedes-AMG C63 S and Chevy Corvette.. Every M4 features a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six, but the standard coupe is the only 2025 that comes with a six-speed manual transmission. It's offered in a single RWD specification and output is rated at 473 hp and 406 lb-ft torque. BMW estimates it can go from 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds. M4 Competition variants receive an eight-speed automatic and are offered with RWD or xDrive AWD. The rear-drive coupe is now the only version to churn out 503 hp, as the AWDs newly produce 523 hp for 2025. Torque remains unchanged at 479 lb-ft. BMW figures the Competition coupe RWD can sprint to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, while the Competition convertible AWD can do it in 3.6 seconds and the Competition coupe AWD can do it in just 3.4 seconds. Fuel economy ratings for 2025 aren't out yet, but every 2024 M4 received 16/23 mpg city/highway except the Competition coupe AWD, which got 1 mpg less in highway mileage. Expect this year's numbers to be the same or similar. Blind-spot monitoring with a rear cross-traffic alert, lane keeping, and automatic high-beams are standard safety tech on the 2025 M4. Lane keeping and adaptive cruise control can be added through the Driving Assistance Professional package to M4 cars with the automatic transmission. The available Parking Assistance package for the base model includes parking sensors and automatic braking. As with the standard 4 Series models, the M4 gains new iDrive 8.5 infotainment software this year. It adds a dedicated menu to the bottom of the cabin's curved 14.9-inch central touchscreen for climate controls—toggles that were previously buried under menus in the screen. There's also new ambient lighting in the trim of the central air vents. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a 12.3-inch cluster display, and head-up display are standard. A heated steering wheel is optional. The 2025 BMW M4 is offered in standard coupe and Competition coupe and convertible models. RWD models go up $1,000 compared to last year, and AWD models go up $2,000. That means the 2025 M4 coupe starts at $80,095, while the most accessible xDrive model is the M4 Competition coupe AWD, and it starts at $89,295.
