'Dance of the Dakinis' Puja | Highlights | Buddhafield Festival 2025

Buddhafield Festival, 17 August 2025, Somerset. Around 200 people or 5% of the festival attended this puja to the three dakinis: Kurukulle (a celestial dakini associated with enchantment,) Machig Labdrön (a historical person given dakini status) and Vajrayogini. Also on the shrine is a statue of Vajravarahi ('Diamond Sow,') which represents Vajrayogini in a more wrathful form. The dakini is an archetypal figure originating in Tibetan Buddhism who represents the liberated energy of Awakening when faced with change. Text from 'Collected Pujas' by Dhiramati.
