In order to keep up with the restoration process of my Mercedes W116, I've decided to replace preemptively the voltage regulator, as if this part goes bad, many other much more expensive parts can suffer. Of course as in any old car, as more as we mess with it, as more flaws we find. So when I tried to tension the belts again, I noticed one screw missing, which lead me to a whole saga.
