Abuse thrives under control and authoritarian parenting. Telling kids they can't “talk back” or question authority puts them at risk. How can children assert their autonomy, speak up for themselves against abuse, or confide in those who demand obedience and withdraw love for non-compliance? They can’t. Let kids have a voice. Saying “No” should be a right, not a punishable offense.
