In his honor, we're all wearing something that's mellow yellow today. May 11 1974, members of Led Zeppelin attended an Elvis Presley show at the Los Angeles Forum in California. After a shaky start to the song "Funny How Time Slips Away," Elvis stopped the band and jokingly said: 'Wait a minute, if we can start together fellas, because we've got Led Zeppelin out there, lets try to look like we know what we're doing, whether we do or not'. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant met with Elvis after the show, spending over 2 hours with the King. May 12 1975, Jefferson Starship gave a free concert in New York's Central Park in front of 60,000. The band and concert sponsor, WNEW-FM, were forced to pay $14,000 for cleaning up and damage done to the park after the event, which of course inspired the song "We Cleaned Up This City."
