I met Bangladesh's Saddam Hussein in Old Dhaka, The most crazy and chaotic neighbourhood in all of Bangladesh On this day I took a journey through Old Dhaka to explore the crowded streets of Bangladesh. Old Dhaka is one of the most busy parts of Dhaka, the most crowded city in the world. Getting around here even on foot is tricky and you have to watch your every step! It may be a lot of chaos but it sure is some good fun! Have you ever seen images/videos of people in South Asia with very red teeth? Those are the chompers of someone addicted to betel nut, also known as pan in Bangladesh. The highly addictive betel nut is rolled in a betel leaf and chewed for about half an hour, giving you a nice boost and making your teeth red and vile. For a fist timer it tastes like absolute ass, it burns and numbs your mouth and is generally disgusting. I'm sure it takes some getting used to because the people of Bangladesh LOVE betel nut!
