It demanded that the Bombay Presidency's 30% tax increase be repealed. The campaign started on June 12th, 1928. Bardoli Satyagraha was an independence struggle led by Sardar Vallabhai Patel and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. The movement also paved the foundation for the Civil Disobedience Movement in 1930, emphasised by the revolutionary Dandi March two years later. The Bardoli Satyagraha are one of the most important topics for the UPSC IAS exam. It covers a significant part of the Modern History subject in the Mains General Studies Paper-1 syllabus and General Studies Paper-1 of the UPSC Prelims Syllabus. This is an important topic for the IAS exam as it is a significant topic of Modern Indian History (GS-I).
