The Yerebuni Fortress is a 2,800-yr-old fortress dug up in the 1950s. According to pieces of wall engravements, this fortress was built in 781 B.C. Surrounding the fortress are picturesque views of the Mt. Ararat, Mt. Aragats, Mt. Ara and the Caucasus Region of Armenia. It is a beautiful escape from the rush of the city of Yerevan. It takes around 1 hour 30 minutes to walk and if you opt to take the taxi it takes around 12 minutes. If you walk you will be rewarded with a more in depth view of the local life of Yerevan.
