Stream Chimney Sweeper here: https://linktr.ee/grimson Visually inspired by Michel Gondry's unique animation style, and musically inspired by Hunky Dory era David Bowie, Chimney Sweeper is, by far, the most painfully ambitious project I've conceived of and executed. It was an exercise in the marriage of film and music, attempting to be more than a standard music video, but not quite a short film. The song itself was written and performed in high school, then finally recorded in Berlin in 2021. The animation consists of more than 1,100 individual drawings done by hand, which were then shot frame by frame into a 16-millimeter Bolex film camera, chemically processed on black and white Tri-X Kodak film stock, then digitized and further edited in Adobe After Effects and Premiere. The final color sequence was achieved through painting and drawing directly onto clear leader, which was then also digitized and edited. Recorded by Robbie Moore Impression Studios in Berlin
