Recorded from the 1971 LP issued by Eterna in the GDR. 0:00 Irrlicht 2:52 Rast 5:54 Frühlingstraum Having studied at Erfurt (violin) and Weimar (singing, under Heinz Alfred Brockhaus), Leib was employed by the Staatsoper Dresden and Staatsoper Berlin. Between the 1950s and ’70s he performed in venues throughout Germany and all over the world, reputed for his operatic roles and interpretations of Lieder. He later became a professor at the Musikhochschule, both in Dresden and in Berlin.
