Numerous composers have turned towards the short form but their attempts are dramatically different due to both the natural variety of styles and musical language, and in a purely essential sense – each piece’s nucleus springs from the bright individuality of the author. In this new CD, I have included 12 of my favourite works, unified by the principle of length – each piece lasts no more than a few minutes. However, quantity is no measure for quality – they are all undisputedly intensely emotional works, rich in imagination and impressive in craftsmanship."
