This great, Woody Guthrie 'dustbowl Ballad' is presented with the lyrics, chords and a suggested strumming pattern, so you can play or sing along with me and learn how to perform this classic tune. A song sheet containing the full lyrics and chords can be viewed or downloaded from my songbook blog here: https://jezquaylesongbookhome.files.w... This is one of Woody's best known songs. It's sung from the perspective of someone caught in the great dust storms of 1935 in the USA -- freak weather events that made it seem like the world was coming to an end! It has some powerful lyrics, although there's an injection of humour towards the end, and a great sing-along chorus. Woody often borrowed melodies from other folk songs so that people would be able to sing his songs easily. The lyrics were much more important to him than the tunes. This one has more or less the same melody as 'The Ballad of Billy the Kid'. I hope you enjoy strumming along with me! - Jez
