Revisiting with a one hour raw video footage compilation the events that unfolded on June 15th 2011 in the city of Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada following the local team's loss of the Stanley Cup in a "do or die" best of 7 final confrontation. In the NHL hockey playoff series, two teams play against each other until the first one wins 4 games, therefore creating a maximum of 7 playable games. The Vancouver Canucks played against the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup finals at the termination of the 2010-2011 hockey season in North America. On June 15th 2011, the 7th game of the series that was tied 3-3 was held at the Rogers Arena in downtown Vancouver on West Georgia Street. Blocks away at the corner of Georgia and Hamilton, a crowd of hundreds of Canucks fans that had come to cheer and watch the game slowly realized what was unfolding during the match. The Boston Bruins dominated the Canucks and eventually won the game 4-0 only to steal the Stanley Cup right from under the Canuck's feet at home. Frustrated fans turned unruly took the streets to provoke police and destroy public properties after the game ended as an almost inevitable outcome. Vehicles were overturned and set ablaze and barely a dozen police officers attempted to intervene within the massive dangerous crowd in the early moments of the riot. Firefighters who had come to extinguish a first burning car along with VPD officers eventually retrieved it safely and exited as the tension rose and things turned into chaos. Eventually, a first anti-riot unit from the VPD appeared and started pushing the unruly crowd eastbound and westbound on Georgia Street from the epicenter at Hamilton Street. As the sun set and dusk settled, dispersed rioters drifted into a large open parking lot on the north east corner of the intersection of Cambie and Georgia. At that location, people vandalized two police cruisers by jumping on them and setting them on fire. Meanwhile, people who quite literally turned insane on that day torched cars parked under a pedestrian roof at The Bay store on Seymour Street north of Georgia. Another part of the crowd that had made its way westbound took over a long stretch of a beautiful luxury shopping area on Granville Street and looted dozens of posh stores and restaurants. At that location, mounted police patrolled as horses walked through burning debris in the aftermath. Numerous K9 units were also seen canvassing the city during the tense hours of the entire afternoon and late into the evening. Multiple people were injured among them police officers and over a hundred people were arrested in this wild and crazy worst riot of the city's history.
