Ten minutes of Flim Flam, on the Pro Stock Tunnel Ram. I made this video, as things are moving right along in the DragBoss Garage. Parts need too be shipped. Quick Announcement Tonight: 8/9/2021 at 8 pm est. LIVE with Uncle Tony's Garage, this will be epic. Two guys keeping Hot Rodding alive. this video shows the in depth look at the Ford 351 Cleveland Pro Stock Tunnel Ram by Edelbrock, The UR-19. The look of the UR-19, immediately takes me back to 1975, my awakening to high performance. First Recollection of NHRA, Drag racing. Really only got to see it if we were lucky enough to catch it on a Saturday afternoon, on ABC wide world of sports, and the agony of defeat, is what I remember. Although there are other Tunnel Ram intakes available, such as the Weiand, and Offenhauser, I have not seen many Cleveland's with those intakes, Maybe a Weiand, on a Gapp and Roush engine. Never an Offy. The 351 Pro Stock Cleveland was ran as all other Pro Stockers of that time with weight based, pounds per ci, with added weight penalties for faster combos. The Cleveland had a weight break of 7.0-7.10 say versus a 426 hemi at 6.40 -6.5. For example if a guy raced a 351 ci engine, and had to stick to 7.0 lbs per ci, it would have to weigh 2457 lbs. So that is why Glidden and other pro stockers used the smaller ci engines. 327, 343 ci stuff. Easier to accelerate lighter weight... They spun the small cubic inch Clevelands to the moon. The ultra rare magnesium 426 Hemi Tunnel Ram, was used on the legendary engine, during Chrysler's backing of NHRA/IHRA Pro Stock . They raced and developed the Hemi into a winning Pro Stock Terror on the strip. Don Carlton, and the Mopar Missile team. They ran a lot of smaller cubic inch engines. We will learn more about them in future episodes, about the Chrysler backed Pro Stock program 70-74, then Chrysler pulled out. We need to get the next live interview ready to schedule, with Joe Pappas. Glad you guys are here and appreciate the support, as Pro Stock Mania continues forward....
