It's amazing how many different games you can play with a ball: four square, dodge ball, hand tennis and lob are games enjoyed by children around the country. Football is perhaps the most popular ball game, whether played as a match, to practice 'skills' such as 'keepy uppy', to discuss a favourite team, or simply to act out the part of TV commentator. Some games like 'catch' have been enjoyed for many generations, but others have faded out, like the difficult ball-bouncing game 'two ball' (played around 50 years ago) in which the player throws a ball against a wall, under the leg, between the legs or over the shoulder, whilst twirling, spinning, skipping and clapping.
