From a tent camp in 1896 to a bustling town of over three hundred people by 1903 to almost abandoned by 1910. Outlaws, miners and everything in between were here. Now only the ravens and wild burros live here. The Stateline Ghost Town on the Utah/Nevada border had it all for a minute at the turn of the twentieth century. The fine houses, rubble. Remnants of a saloon. And of course the rusted hulking mess of machinery on a hillside where the ore was processed. A fascinating place where things once happened. Riches were found. Stolen cattle were hustled through the canyon. An outlaw was even killed here after he was caught by a Mormon posse. Only the silence remains with the occasional squawk of a raven or the slap of sheet metal in a breeze. Please join me as I head out to the desert to see what remains at this historical spot!
