Today I'm out in Wales doing a bit of hiking - I'm on the woodland trails around Nant Gwernol and Abergynolwyn in Mid Wales, heading from Abergynolwyn Station on the Talyllyn Railway up into the mountains to the old quarries and back down on a loop around the forests. It's an area I know very well - I've been coming here since I was a kid, and I've been involved with the Talyllyn Railway for many years. You can also find the Natural Resources Wales audio guide app - search for 'PlaceTales Cymru/Wales NRW' app By far the best way to see the valley is via the heritage Talyllyn Railway - the railway has been closed due to Covid19 for most of this year, but is now operating again on a pre-booking only basis with precautions in place to keep everyone safe - for more details and to book, please visit www.talyllyn.co.uk I should advise that at the moment (Sept 2020) you are unable to leave the train at Abergynolwyn or Nant Gwernol stations to explore the walks, as you have to return on the same train - fingers crossed next year will allow a move back to normal running
