Check out my full downwind playlist here 👉 • Foil Videos Quick downwind run across the bay from Puzziteddu to Marzara in Sicily/Italy🇮🇹 The top 4 key takeaways for me were: ⤵️ 1. For my weight the Axis PNG 1300v2 is more suited for bays and lakes, as it was slightly too slow for my runs in the Mediterranean here. Remember matching the speed of the wave is key 🔑. I have since switched to the larger fireballs ☄️ for ocean runs and have ZERO 👌 regrets. 2. This is a very SAFE run. You can paddle out in the sheltered bay behind the lighthouse in Puzziteddu and - very quickly after the start - you are able to see the huge white bridge of Marzara marking the end of the run…so you cannot get lost. 🙂 3. The coastal highway running along the bay as well as the super big parking lots (both at the start and at the end of the run) make shuttles very easy. 👌It would also be the perfect setup to film a complete run from the car 🚗 or use a drone 🚁. 4. This run needs a powerful Scirocco wind 🌪️ (blowing from the South) to work. Be aware of the fact that the thermals ☀️ can kill the Scirocco in the afternoon and prepare an exit strategy if the wind suddenly drops. 💨❌ Finally: For a good post-ride recovery we strongly recommend a classic Italian pizza – because balance is everything! 🍕👌🇮🇹😋 Thanks to wake-style.com for providing the best toys to play with. 🤙 Gear: Axis 1300v2/Ultrashort Adv. He might even join you on a downwind run. 🙂 00:01 Briefing and Gear Talk 01:42 Climbing down the Cliffs 01:52 Sea Urchins 02:06 Paddle out 02:14 Some Shots from the Run 03:10 Debriefing the Run / Thoughts on the PNG 1300v2
