Namugongo Mayoral Candidates Blame Low Voter Turnout on EC Candidates contesting the Namugongo Division chairperson, have attributed the low voter turnout to what they describe as the Electoral Commission’s poor handling of the declaration of the Kira Municipality mayoral results, in which National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate Allan Bulamu was announced winner. Ronald Nkalubo, the incumbent Namugongo Division chairperson and a candidate on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket, said voter apathy is a direct result of declining public confidence in the electoral process.
