Contact me: E-mail : thisoldcook2000@gmail.com Mincemeat recipe: • Traditional Christmas mince pie filling Apple and mincemeat Christmas strudel 1 sheet of ready rolled puff pastry (320g) 180g mincemeat 1 tablespoon cranberry sauce 1/2 peeled & chopped, cooking apple or 1 chopped eating apple Egg wash (1 small egg, beaten with a dash of milk) 1 tablespoon granulated sugar 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Preheated Oven 180C / 350F / Gas mk 4 Unroll the sheet of pastry with the long side towards you. mark the edge of the sheet into 3 sections and roll the outside sections until slightly thinner than the middle. Mix together your mincemeat, cranberry sauce and chopped apple and spread evenly down the centre section. Cut diagonal lines from the centre section to the edges, starting from about 1 or 2 cm in. Fold the edge across your mix and trim off the excess. Fold alternating pieces of the outer sections of pastry across the top to form a lattice pattern. Fold up the end and trim away the excess pastry. Egg wash the top and sides of the pastry and sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon mix. Cook for 20 - 25 minutes (or until cooked through). Eat hot or cold, with custard or ice cream.
