Munky explains the story behind Korn’s “Did My Time.” He originally wrote the riff years earlier, but when he brought it to the band during an earlier album cycle, neither the band nor producer Michael Beinhorn liked it. The song ended up being shelved until Korn later began producing their own material and finally brought the riff back. Years later, when Korn began producing their own material, the riff finally came back and became the song fans know today.
