Highlights from the adventure include: Serpent Eagle Sighting (3:27-3:50): After an extensive 12-hour search, they successfully located and observed the elusive serpent eagle. Nightwalks in Bemanevika (3:56-6:30): They embarked on highly productive nightwalks, encountering numerous species of frogs (around 14 species), chameleons, four species of nocturnal lemurs, and various roosting birds, including the rare forest fody. Unique Gecko Discovery (8:12-11:59): During a night walk, they found a new Uroplatus gecko, also known as the leaf-tailed gecko. Rare Mammal Sightings (12:09-15:30): The team encountered several rare and endemic mammals, including dwarf lemurs, mouse lemurs, Avahi (woolly lemurs), and a new species of forest rat called Fanaloka. Chameleon Encounters (17:12-18:25): They observed hundreds of Kuma Hafa chameleons, a species endemic to the Bemanevika forest, which is Malagasy for "weird" or "different." Challenges of Travel (15:31-17:10): The hosts describe the extremely challenging road conditions, particularly the risk of being stranded for months if heavy rains occurred. Ankarana National Park Visit (52:42-53:18): They visited Ankarana National Park, known for its unique limestone formations called "tsingi."
