When a mysterious salesman arrives in the village peddling a phoney love potion, Nemorino is duped into thinking that it will make Adina fall for him, not knowing that she maybe already has. Adina however, becomes betrothed to the arrogant sergent, Belcore. But will Nemorino and Adina defy the expectations of class and convention to find true love together?The Elixir of Love, featuring the aria Una Furtiva Lagrima, is a joyous, operatic rom-com. This sun-drenched production of Donizetti’s timeless masterpiece, set against the backdrop of post-war rural Italy, promises love, laughter and pure Mediterranean escapism. Sung in English.
