Hello everyone and welcome back to another gruesome video about horror movies, with Marvelous Videos. Today we have a horror classic, that is going to blow your mind with its plot. At midnight, when everything is quiet, the white fog that creeps out in the air is not just an added element of terror in the film. Released in 1980, we are going to talk about one of the most brilliant works of John Carpenter. He has always been known for his horror movies. After Halloween was released amidst a lot of praise in 1978, just 2 years later he gave us another masterpiece, The Fog. It is a pure-blooded ghost story, which didn't happen all that often during that point in time. The date is April 20, 1980, it is five minutes until midnight, and the location is Antonio Bay, a small California coastal town. Now, in order to try to scare the children, a nice, bearded old man named Mr. Machen tells them the horrifying true story which is about their own town. And guess what, it has a mysterious curse which was left by the ghostly dead, and you can count on them because they will surely return someday to wreak havoc and extract their revenge. Well, pretty much the rest of the film will circle around the revenge which is supposed to be taken and then begins a variety of series of troubling events that occur all over the town between midnight and 1 o'clock in the morning. Oh, and the lighthouse that is used in the film, is actually the Point Reyes Lighthouse in Martin County, California. And believe it or not, it has over 300 steps leading down to the lighthouse. John Carpenter, the legendary director, ends up creating an eerie, unforgettable environment for the rest of the film. The Fog definitely has the feel of a ghost story, the kind you would hear around a fire as a child, where you lean in a little, rest your chin on your hands, and become totally absorbed in a tale that has never been heard before. Well, now let us get into more details about the film, and find out what really is going on in this small bizarre town.
