MFA Acting Series: Advice to Undergrads Preparing for Auditions with Mazvita Chanakira

Video Description timestamps below HEY TEAM In this video I give advice to young undergraduate students who are thinking about applying to MFA Acting program. All my advice is geared towards making sure when you walk into audition rooms you are not begging or morphing into what these schools want. I give these specific advice so that you develop your own reason as to why you MUST get your masters in acting. Hopefully they will save you the 2 years it took me. I also invited my cohort member Mazvita Chanakira. She is a graduate of Pace University’s BFA acting program and came to Columbia University’s MFA Acting program straight from undergrad. I give advice as someone who wasn’t an acting major (purple text) And Maz give advice as someone who was an acting major (orange text) Super excited for this video and I hope you all enjoy it! Please let me know in the comments below if you want more videos like this. Also let me know if you want a Q&A with Maz as well! Also I was so sleepy while filming this I’m sorry for my lack of energy and also, also this video was originally an hour and a half long- so I had to cut cut cut which makes parts of the video a little choppy! And I’m sorry, I’m still happy with it though! Extra advice: stay focused don’t get distracted by people telling you acting isn’t a career. do not under estimate the power of meditation, prayer and reasoning. Acting is not a pretty career. When it’s all said and done you should be bruised, dirty, alive with the worlds biggest smile on your face!
