The auction site at WestWorld was full of energy on Saturday, Oct. 18, as collectibles, celebrities, car clubs and charity were in the spotlight. Stars could be seen on and off the auction block throughout the day. Bill and Tom Kaulitz from the German ‪@Netflix‬ show, “Kaulitz & Kaulitz” took in the action for the second day in a row. ‪@TheStradman‬, the popular YouTuber and restaurant entrepreneur (whose vehicles have been showcased in the Fan Zone presented by ‪@HGVTV‬), joined the excitement on Super Saturday. He led a convoy of over a dozen supercars to the auction, where they were featured in the Car Club Corral, drawing a large and enthusiastic group of onlookers. Actor ‪@theshatnerproject‬, best known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk on “Star Trek” and the host of “The UnXplained,” joined Barrett-Jackson Chairman and CEO Craig Jackson on the block alongside President Steve Davis for the sale of Lot 964, his 2011 ‪@Porsche‬ Panamera Turbo. Julian Carr, a professional skier and elite athlete with two world records and an X-Games old medal, also stopped by for the sale of his stunning custom Candy Apple Red 1979 ‪@ford‬ Bronco (Lot 969.1). Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran made an appearance when his 2018 ‪@gmc‬ Sierra 1500 Denali custom pickup (Lot 1020) crossed the block. Chuck Picerni, the original stunt coordinator for the 2000 remake of “Gone in 60 Seconds” was on hand for the sale of a 1968 Ford Mustang Licensed Eleanor 25th Anniversary Limited Edition (Lot 1068), which went to its new home for $429,000. Other top sales of the day included: LOT 1056 – 2006 FORD GT – $660,000 LOT 1051 – 2021 FORD GT MK II – $605,000 LOT 1086 – 1976 FORD BRONCO CUSTOM SUV – $440,000 LOT 1068 – 1968 FORD MUSTANG LICENSED ELEANOR 25TH ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION - $429,000 LOT 1082 – 1972 FORD BRONCO CUSTOM SUV – $379,500 LOT 1045 – 2025 PORSCHE 911 TURBO S – $341,000 Shortly after Patrick Lauder, Barrett-Jackson’s official national anthem performer for Super Saturday, concluded his performance, motorcycles converged on WestWorld from ‪@harleydavidson‬ of Scottsdale to support the charity sale of Lot 3001, a 1966 Harley-Davidson FLH custom motorcycle, which sold for $145,000, all of which benefited the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Craig Jackson and Steve Davis were joined on the block by Tunnel to Towers Executive Vice President of Development Eric Cortina and Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communications Larry Olsen, along with the Mohawk Group’s Jackie Dettmar and David Duncan. The Mohawk Group teamed up with renowned bike builder Paul Cox to create the unique “Hot and Heavy Chopper.” Later in the afternoon Lot 3002, a 1988 ‪@Chevrolet‬ Corvette 35th Anniversary Edition, raised a total of $200,000 for the ‪@American_Heart‬ Association. Dwane Laymon and Joe Riley, both longtime members of the Barrett-Jackson family, became winners in more ways than one during the sale. Laymon became the first hero with heart when the gavel was brought down on a winning bid of $110,000 and, in an extraordinary act of generosity, donated the car back to be auctioned a second time. Riley then stepped in with the second winning bid of $90,000, adding to the total raised for the American Heart Association.
