With a name like Latakia Rollcake I expected to be kicked in the face by that heady smoky scent of burning camel dung (yes - I know that’s only a rumor). Instead the aroma was surprisingly... mild. Polite, and well manicured. Yes, there was a tiny bit of the barnyard in the smell, and wood smoke too, But it was more like a cook fire than a campfire, and there was something cooking on the fire too. It was vaguely beefy.
