What Can I Image Using the HeliScan MicroCT at CEMAS?

This session is part of the "Beyond the Scope: CEMAS Discussion Series" X-ray micro-computed tomography is a powerful non-destructive technique that allows users to capture 3-dimensional information about the internal structure of their samples. The HeliScan’s helical trajectories and long Z stage allow for imaging of samples with a large aspect ratio and high resolutions with voxel sizes as small as 400 nm. Samples are scanned at ambient conditions allowing wet/moist samples to be imaged. The HeliScan has been used as a critical part of correlative workflows and as a tool to investigate a wide range of research applications, from imaging mouse hearts to looking for a defect in metallic objects. In this edition of "Beyond the Scope," we explore how the HeliScan's capabilities can advance research initiatives.
