Dean and Haley find themselves pushing each other away. Haley, because she's grieving so badly she's lost. So when Haley pushes him away he bolts. Jax, Haley's close friend, tries to put her back together but he can't, because nothing can. The grief she is facing can't be fixed or covered up. Haley ultimately walks away from him too, because she can't handle being with anyone right now, because her life has fallen apart. It all comes to a head after time passes and Bobby gets shot. And while Dean is initally upset to see Haley again after they had hurt each other so badly, losing Bobby is what really helps to bring them back together.
